General information
Introduction
Renovation of a rental building.
Renovation
The rental building, located halfway between La Tour-de-Peilz railway station and the town's main shopping center, offers around forty apartments on a first floor with a commercial purpose: a restaurant and a beauty salon. It is owned by a pension fund, which decided to give it a facelift and improve its thermal performance.
.
Program
The project therefore aimed to save energy by better insulating the building and installing solar panels to produce domestic hot water. It also aimed to cool the building internally in its common areas, externally in its envelope and its service and leisure facilities.
Realization
Insulation was focused on the roof and the installation of perimeter insulation on the facades, but also on the refurbishment of railings, all exterior locksmithing, stairwells, and the painting of the common areas.
Particular attention was paid to detail, notably to maintain the existing eaves while ensuring the insulation of the area, or to retain the surround of the sash illuminating the stairwell. Outside, a play area was created, as well as an area designed to house garbage cans.
Special measures
The refurbishment was carried out in the presence of the residents, but went smoothly. The color chosen for the facades, particularly the main rounded one facing the street, generated a few surprises. The old cladding was a discreet old pink. The new one is a strong red, approved by the municipal services and the project owner. In the end, residents were won over by the brightness and dynamism it brings to the renovated building.
